Changing Recipes For Health

Even if you frequently make use of your slow cooker to make beef, pork or chicken recipes, you might have totally not considered fish dishes. Fish is renowned for its ability to cook fast so maybe you thought slow cooking was not an option for it. While thumbing through my magazines and cookbooks looking for chicken recipes, I noticed there were quite a few that had salsa, or a spicy sauce spooned over top of the dish. If it tasted good on top, then it stood to reason that it would taste good underneath and in the middle too. Chicken after all is a totally blank slate. It can taste like whatever you cook it with which makes it chilli con carne the perfect medium.


You could use a theme for the custom cookbook. It could be a book of breakfast recipes or a book of dessert recipes. You could make it a style of cooking, say a book of barbecue recipes or slow cooker recipes. There are a lot of Asian recipes out there so it could be based on that type of theme as well.


I find it helps to butter the crockpot before adding everything. It makes for easier cleanup when youre done. I use part of the stick of butter, then melt the rest and add it to the recipe.


In a pinch a small bowl of Wendy's chili isn't a horrible choice, but it's somewhat limited in nutritional value and is too high in sodium and artificial additives. A better option? Make it yourself by adding grass raised organic beef and chili beans to a chilli con carne recipe jamie oliver cooker along with the other ingredients and allow it to cook all day. When you come home from work, it's ready to serve - without all of the salt and additives. If you do get a bowl of Wendy's chili, stay away from the crackers they give offer on the side. They're mostly empty calories and, they too, contain high fructose corn syrup.
